Onto the Black Road episode 2

Simone Cooper
Slot 3 - Fri 2pm-6:30pm - 4 1/2 hours

You are among the few extraordinary men and women who might make a difference. You died in the nightmare of the Black Road that ripped your world apart, and you returned changed.

You became one of Earth's champions. You stepped onto the Black Road and got your first glimpse of the terrible and alien forces arrayed against one another.

You found that your world was only a rut to them, paved over in their armies' marches; your people, ants, ignored underfoot. You witnessed one of their battles, and found that your efforts, however small they seemed, have made a difference.

You have been noticed.

Onto the Black Road welcomes new players if it's not full with existing characters, but it requires significant setup. First year players had an entire game session for this development.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Existing characters will receive some review and revision. If there is space for any new characters to begin, there will be SUBSTANTIAL preparation required, possibly including Skype roleplay. DO NOT sign up for this game as a new player if you cannot commit to this preparation.

An Irregular Affair

Adam Easterday
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours

The Great Detective summoned you out of the blue, as he is wont to do. There was no substance as to why your particular talents were required but, as always, you answered the call.

Arriving at the stoop of 221B Baker Street, you were not greeted as normal by the redoubtable Mrs. Hudson but by the slightly ajar door...you called out hesitantly, entered cautiously only to find the corpses of Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson. Others of the Irregulars have arrived as well and the group of you are left with a horrific scene and the mystery of who killed the world's greatest detective.

An Irregular Affair is a mystery, an adventure and an entrée into a broader story that may take players far afield from their current lives in the Great City and roles as members of the Baker Street Irregulars. This game may become a continuing affair.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters will be created using a modified form of the DRPG system via email prior to the con or the players may request a pregen character from the GM (and get what they get).

Made Of Flecks Of Light And Dark

My room.
Rae H. Williams
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours

Another dinner in Amber, that the family is “asked” to attend.  Random is king and he and Vialle are celebrating their anniversary.  There will be dignitaries from Chaos and some others attending as well.  But when certain people don’t show and can’t be contacted, the party takes on a different tone.

Random is king, but the Merlin books haven't happened yet.

This was run as part of the Shakespeare game at AmberCom, and had such a strong result, I’m running it as a one shot here, so Shakespeare won’t show up.
It was also run as a one shot at Amber Central 2016.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Children of the elders and Chaosians with strong ties are welcome.  150 point characters, but the points don't really matter. Shared universe.

Monster Warts

Cyrano Jones
Slot 1 - Thu 7pm-12am - 5 hours

(Full disclosure: There will be dice.)
The drama of Monster Hearts in the Harry Potter world.

Monster Hearts is a game of the messy lives of teenagers who also happen to be monsters. It's based on the sort of action you see in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vampire Diaries, Wolf Lake, and other CW-styled supernatural evening soaps.

Harry Potter is a series of seven books about the complicated lives of teenagers who also happen to be wizards.

This game will take place at a modern American school. I have not yet decided whether it will be a boarding school or not, but I'm picturing a sort of 'Dangerous Minds' vibe. Dangerous Wands.

There will be pre-game character and world generating, so please don't sign up if that isn't fun for you.

Aurors: The Dirty Coven

David A McCreless, Erik Florentz, Kit Kindred
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours

The Wizarding War rages on. Europe has fallen to the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and his muggle allies in the Thule Society. Only the Ministry of Magic and its Aurors keep England from falling.

As Grindelwald prepares final moves against the Ministry, the Aurors conceive a desperate plan. A group of dangerous prisoners will be released from Azkaban to operate behind enemy lines on a suicide mission to alter the course of the war.

Now this group of dark wizards, murderers, thieves, werewolves, and worse, along with the Aurors who imprisoned them, must work together before the Wizarding War is lost and Grindelwald conquers muggle and wizard alike.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Email Kit if you have questions. Pregenerated characters will be provided. Some minor knowledge of the Harry Potter universe would be helpful, but not essential as this game takes place roughly 50 years before the events of those books/films. WW2 knowledge is likewise not critical as the game focuses on the secret Wizarding War occurring in the shadows. Likely to not be as dark as ShadowWorld WW2, but likely to have more Harry Potter content :) Character fatalities [or worse] highly likely Game may run late, likely past the witching hour.
