Amber in Twilight: For Centuries The Pattern has bestowed no power; now after the deaths of the King and his heirs that appears to be changing.
Game Book Detail
Plucked from the ranks of the most skilled non-royals in all the history of Shadow, AmberWatch guards the timestream of the multiverse from those that would rewrite history for their own ends. This time the timeline has gone off in a very odd way -- apparently Eric and Corwin are now friends? Can history survive such insanity?
This game will use the TimeWatch RPG system. It's simple, nearly diceless, and designed to support standard time travel tropes. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kevinkulp/timewatch-gumshoe-investigative-time-travel-rpg
I will warn players, the 2019 version will not be based on a Shakespeare's comedy (though there seems to be a lot of laughter during the game). Because of things done in last year's game by the players, the universe is going to be different. New players don't need to know what happened in the past 15 sessions.
Although this is a series, each game is a separate story. Returning players have a bit of the history as part of the game, but it is not necessary to know the story. Each part of this series is based on a different Shakespeare play. You don’t have to be an aficianado of the Bard to enjoy the game. The main points were: Random, Dworkin, Oberon, and Moire are dead. Eric was found in a monastery somewhere, not dead; and he and Bleys are regents in Amber. Martin is married to a Hellmaid and there is a construct that took over for Eric and Ghostwheel running the universe. Oh, and there are 3 Caines, 3 Julians, and 3 Gérards running around. Or has it all changed? There was some time travel last year to save a marriage and life, and a message left for a future Fiona. Will this change things in current time? Sign up and we’ll find out. If you sign up, I'll give you more info.
Each part of this series is based on a different Shakespeare play. You don’t have to be an aficianado to enjoy the game. Part 1 was based on "MacBeth." Part 2 was "The Merchant of Venice." Part 3 was "The Comedy of Errors." Part 4 was "Romeo And Juliet." Part 5 was "As You Like It." Part 6 was “King John.” Part 7 was “Henry VI, Part 2.” Part 8 was “All’s Well That Ends Well.” Part 9 was "Measure For Measure." Part 10 was “Henry VIII.” Part 11 was “The Tempest.” Part 12 was “Henry VI, Part 1” Part 13 was “Julius Caesar”. Part 14 was “Loves Labours Lost”. Part 15 was “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Part 16 is based on another Shakespeare play, but you'll have to guess which.
Inside Amber Castle, King Oberon and Queen Paulette have honoured their children Mirelle and Random’s 25th birthday despite threats to King and Country.
Risks have been overcome from the Moonriders to the threats of internal dissention. Caine and Julian with Eric have stormed out of the Court and are off brooding after a series of reversals. Which young princesses/princes have been the hand of Oberon or the boot of Corwin?
Oberon’s former Royal Mistress, Darlene Helgram covets the diamond necklace, once given to her, but re-gifted to Princess Deirdre
In this uneasy fog of peace with Amber and Chaos, lurks further opportunity for the wise, the ruthless and the daring.
With Lammas behind, there is coming of Fall as Amber City’s halcyon summer slowly draws to a close and the Autumnal Equinox looms. The harvests from Garnath Castle to Oberon’s summer retreat of Sans Souci is receiving troubling news. The grain, the olives, the grapes, the cheeses all seem blighted and this is not explainable by normal means.
King Oberon and his Court now count on you, the young princesses and princes, to determine what is plaguing the richest and most critical part of Amber’s homeland. You need to save the rest of the Kingdom’s agricultural supply.
It is said the legendary quality of the grapes and olives of Sans Souci are shipped as far away as the Dragon Court of King Swayville himself in Thelbane Tower, Chaos. This alone, may have the interest of King Swayville of Chaos.
It is said we, of the Blood of the Unicorn, are connected. There is forming a ripple effect. The actions of the one of us are affecting the future for us all. Even the seemingly insignificant gesture, careless action, or deliberate insult is making a tremendous difference in the days that follow the Court Session not so long ago.
These are the living stories of change. The greatest is beginning in this, the worst and the best of times. Even at this centre of power, hope is coming from even the most unexpected of sources. For your own origins as a scion of Oberon to the heart of the all reality - the only thing more powerful than a king is destiny yet does free will of your actions change that destiny and how?
Has your single act change everything? Has one woman or man make a difference? Will you continue to make change openly, covertly or discreetly as the others have recently done.
This has become an open serial game which welcomes more contributors to this story in a little known period in Amber's long history. Players may choose to be a daughter/son or grandchild of Oberon that is in the Amber Series. The Amber story started with canon but there are more secrets than Corwin told of the kingdom's past. Some of the recent history has been created by player actions and the reverberations/reactions.

The continuing adventures of Amberites dealing with the fallout of Dworkin's abdication of the Pattern. Post-Dworkin Amber. The Black Road has returned and been beaten back.
Will probably snack during, and may carry the game to dinner.
"I looked down at the great City of Ember and reflected. I was born a millennia after the age of Strife. I was not there when the forces of Amber clashed with the Courts of Chaos but the scars of that great war could still be seen in the worlds of shadow. Bottomless chasms or rifts in space all leading to the Abyss for anyone dumb enough to plum their depths.....and here in Ember the uneasy alliance of the survivors of the great cataclysm could be seen in the architecture. The districts seemed designed to protect themselves against each other. Was it likely that the great houses would betray each other. No. We all knew that without the Worldforge and the combined powers that fueled it, we would all be plunged into the Abyss. The Abyss had a taste of our realities during the cataclysm and it hungered for more. Those great chasms and scars did more to keep the peace than my father ever could since they stood as warning of what awaited us if our alliance disolved." -Excerpt from the diary of Prince Ion of House Emerald.
This game is set in an Alternate Amber and will use an adaption of the Key RPG System. Characters will be created by email before the con. The player characters will all be from house descended from Amber but may have powers of Pattern or Logrus. The system will have a split cost for various effects of the powers rather than the Basic/Advanced version of Amber Diceless.
In Pretty Amber, there sits a King of All Order. In Dark Chaos, there hovers a Queen on the Edge of the Tree of Matter. Amber and Chaos have vexed us since before the Nameless spit out the Logrus. Terrible immortals, they parcel the universe and squabble over mysteries. Pendrad is found. Lords of Shadow and Gossamer have uncovered that which was so Long Lost we nearly forgot it ourselves. Once the Glorious Pendrad was the Crafting the UnderGods feared, and too long they have forgotten who built the Pendrad. We call You of all Bloods together, for a Memory returned. Young Immortals are pretty, but not the prettiest or most wicked. For they are not Fae.
Play the Immortals who existed before the Universe had Shadows, the Fae. They are incredibly ancient. They have mad skillz. They breathe Magic. They are nearly extinct... but maybe that can change! please read 'Lords of Gossamer and Shadow' by Jason Durall. Your PCs will be tasked by the Great Khans of the Fae... you may pick your own Khan (returning players have first choice), based on character design OR contact with the GM by email. The web page to get flavor background of Pendrad series is https://intheshadowofgreatness.wordpress.com/2005/01/09/imc_fae_khans/.
Characters into the GM 2 weeks before Con get 100 pts. Other Characters are built for 80 pts. No pregens available without talking to the GM.
St. Clarissa's Home for Outsdanding Orphans has produced its first crop of candidates. They are settling into Amber, ready to bring Clarissa's blessings to that foul place. The future is wide open!
Returning characters: Well, your psychopathic upbrings are ready to blossom into the adult machinations you dreamt up last year.
New characters: S.C.H.O.O creates an interesting world view - families are unfortunate. Power is critical. Death of classmates is acceptable. Adoption - unfortunate. This year's new classes will be spending some time in SCHOO, and some time aprrenticing with the veterans as they strive to bring down Amber.
This time, this place (well, sorta, there were a few minor changes). You are elite soldiers from militaries around the world, and attached specialist and even civilians, in a black ops program dealing with invasion of Earth by non-humans, the TARGETS. The Colonels' Council running the program generates missions ranging from reconnaissance of parallel worlds reachable through the tunnel system, to support and expansion of off-world bases and even a proto-colony, in case Earth falls. This is current day Earth, sort of. This is Amber, sort of. Target:AMBER grew out of Patrick Brady at AmberCon UK running a one-shot (which became a 9 year campaign that ended half a decade ago) musing on the casual strength and resilience of Amberites described in the first books, and consider what the whole package would be, in speed, reaction speed, senses. Consider dogs that can run down a Mercedes and tear pieces off of it, and think what it would mean to face a pack of those, as a mere mortal, with Earth arms and armor. Consider how many Amberites have visited Earth over the years, and how they play games. This starts on Earth as we know it, but a bit different. The multiverse after the first five books, and then some. This is Target:AMBER V2. It is not a spin-off, not a reboot, this is a continuation of Target: AMBER, as run by Patrick Brady at AmberCon UK, and the spinoff set in the same universe run by Tim Hart at Ambercon NorthWest. What more can I tell you?
Some things on this earth are unspeakable:
Genealogy of the broken—
A shy wind threading leaves after a massacre,
Or the smell of coffee and no one there—
Some humans say trees are not sentient beings,
But they do not understand poetry—
Nor can they hear the singing of trees when they are fed by
Wind, or water music—
Or hear their cries of anguish when they are broken and bereft—
Now I am a woman longing to be a tree, planted in a moist, dark earth
Between sunrise and sunset—
I cannot walk through all realms—
I carry a yearning I cannot bear alone in the dark—
What shall I do with all this heartache?
The deepest-rooted dream of a tree is to walk
Even just a little ways, from the place next to the doorway—
To the edge of the river of life, and drink—
I have heard trees talking, long after the sun has gone down:
Imagine what would it be like to dance close together
In this land of water and knowledge. . .
To drink deep what is undrinkable.
