This game is intended for kids 7-14, with parents of kids on the younger side encouraged to join us as well. (This game will almost certainly not take the full six hours of this slot!!)

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
This game is set in the Lords of Gossamer and Shadow multiverse using a simplified diceless rule system. Character creation consists of determining name, description, and one thing the PC is great at, two things they are good at, one thing they are bad at, and an idea for an adventure they'd like to have. The kids are from our Earth but have been introduced to the infinite worlds of the Stairway.

Set about a century after the Patternfall War.

With Chaos, Rebma and Amber at peace. (we don't talk about what the Jesbys tried a few years back. And we don't mention what your cousin Lorius did in response. The crater in the Black Zone is still radioactive anyway), cooperation and working together on mutual problems and concerns are more the rule of the day.

Which is to say that one doesn't take advantage of opportunities or issues, of course.

Reports from Rheaine of House Ishtar, daughter of Eric, of a strange, expanding region of shadow have come to the attention of both Merlin and Random. And Moire has interest, too. The era of cooperation is going to be tested, as a joint force of Amberites and Chaosians and Rebmans are going to go get some real facts on the ground about what is impinging on Amber and Chaos' suite of Shadows...on the Boundaries of Infinity.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Players create 120 point characters, basic powers only**, either from Amber, Rebma, or from Chaos.

Your characters are cats, living with their humans in a superficially peaceful suburban neighborhood. But they are also heroes, defending their humans, fellow cats, and the rest of the world (or at least their part of it) from EVIL THINGS. If they can somehow get out of the house...

Setting: A lovely tree-lined neighborhood on the West side of Ann Arbor, Michigan -- frequent finalist in "Best Places to Live in the US" but always loses points for expensive housing, road quality, and football traffic. Of course, if you're a cat, you don't care about any of that as long as you're fed, have a warm place to sleep, the crows don't steal your food, and the damn demons would QUIT TRYING TO EAT YOUR HUMANS' SOULS.

This game borrows heavily enough from John Wick's "Cat" that I want to acknowledge the debt, but it isn't a straight use of the rules or setting.

London, England at the dawn of the 1970s. The dawn of the Age of Aquarius. Supposedly. But there is something dark, secret and sinister about this new age. Something Cold. Luckily there’s this rich, eccentric American woman who has seen this coming. Mrs. Evelyn Flaumel is her name. You don’t know much about her but she knows you and she knows how to hire the best.

You are Department-F. Brought together by Mrs. Flaumel to be her investigative agents. Her eyes and ears (and occasionally fists and boots) on the streets of London. There’s a Dark Aquarius brewing on the horizon and Mrs. Flaumel wants you on the case.

This game is set in London, early 1970s, during the time of the early Amber novels. PCs are human residents of London and character gen will be done over email before the game.

Mysteries of the Multiverse

The Multiverse. A multiverse of realities and timelines and on every one there is an Earth. There are Earths that are home to powerful wizards and Earths where magic does not exist. There are earths where colorful superheroes do battle with powerful villains and worlds where everyone just struggles to survive. The multiverse is a collection of infinite earths.

For the safety of the multiverse, a powerful race known as the Monitors ensures that travel between universes is rare and the stability of the multiverse is maintained.

....but what happens when a mystery comes along that leaves them clueless? Who do they go to? Well, every Monitor is aware of at least one "world's greatest detective" and it is time to call them all in.

You are one of those detectives. You can be any detective you want....but in your world you are one of the best. Who will you be? Sherlock Holmes? Miss Marple? Lt. Columbo? Jessica Fletcher? Batman!? Encyclopedia Brown!?! Detective Chimp!?!? Can even the multiverse's greatest detectives solve "the murder in the multiverse?"

You can even play any character as long as they are known for solving crimes and they come from a setting where there is an Earth. (They don't have to be from it so if you want to play Mr. Spock, he may find this mystery....fascinating.) Character creation will be handled using a streamlined version of the Key RPG System by e-mail.

If you’ve read or seen "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, the idea starts there. You don’t have to know the story to play in the game though. The GM has never been to London, but has lived in New York. Last year I ran “Subways Of New York” as a sort of intro to this idea. Using the Neverhere setting, each year will have a different story, so you don’t have to have played a previous year. Explore a side, make that explore the below side of New York City with talents to help you get through and stay alive. Characters can be upsider, in-betweener, or downsider. 

I will set up a wiki soon to point out some of the highlights of the underrealm.

ShadowWorld Mainline (Sunday Day)

ShadowWorld is a diceless roleplaying game based in our world, except that, under the facade of media, politics, political correctnes and 'reality' there is a ShadowWorld where strange things happen: psionic powers, ancient secrets, dark conspiracies that are hidden from or dismissed by the general public. The players are psionically gifted operators of a secret organization sent on a mission. Though an ongoing world setting, it is an episodic campaign: new players are welcome.

The real world in the current day, with a few changes (e.g. Quebec, Ontario the provinces east of it became a country and, with Cuba, Ecuador and Vanuatu, formed a Commonwealth). To the public there is more terrorist acts, more military action, and, recently, more weird events (e.g. Jupiter ignited into a star, astronomers claim we skipped ahead a day in Earth's orbit, Scotland got covered in ancient forests and physically became larger, the Ark of the Covenant was found).

CONTENT WARNING: ShadowWorld involves many adult themes, in particular, if you take (your) religion seriously, playing ShadowWorld likely is not for you.

Game will run late: I hope, and will work hard to, end by 5pm. It may run as late as 6pm. I hope to end the Mainline games at ACUS big.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
If you don't have an existing character that you will play again, contact the GM by email (ambercon.com@voskamp.org) with at least a vague idea for an outline of a concept. You can play any character with regards to background, skills, etcetera, as long as your background makes you suitable to be recruited by a US-based organization. Your character will have one or more psionic powers, have some mystical nature, or both.

Young witches of any gender are welcome at the Unbound Academy, one of the best institutions for magical learning. Nestled in the wooded lands near Salem, Massachusetts, the Unbound Academy is home to some unusual happenings, but don't let that deter you from becoming one of our incoming students!

You are a student newly arrived at The Unbound Academy, a school for young witches of any gender. New students are generally high school aged (15-18), but can be older or younger. You get to choose your character’s house based on the type of magic they specialize in and/or the personality traits that stem from witches of that specialty, though students take classes in all four Houses’ preferred subjects and other areas. House of Deluge (water, movement, crossroads, doorways) House of Shadows (fire, light, darkness) House of Vines (earth, plants, poisons) House of Mists (air, ghosts, necromancy) The game will be mostly freeform, with some details of your character determined ahead of the game. This game will be teen friendly if we have any teen participants.
